The daughter of one of Argentina’s wealthiest men has been released unharmed after her family paid a ransom. Florencia Macri, 19, had been held for almost a week after she was abducted as she left a theatre in Buenos Aires. She reportedly took a taxi home after she was freed around dawn on Monday in the Moreno area, on the western outskirts of the city. “Florencia is well,” her half-brother Mauricio told reporters. He confirmed a ransom had been paid, but said it was “much less” than the $1.5m quoted in local newspapers.
