Colombian rebels said they will not release five foreign tourists before Christmas, Roman Catholic Church mediators told AFP. “We are looking for a solution,” said bishop Hector Fabio Henao, with a group of church mediators. “We have not closed the door to dialogue.” National Liberation Army (ELN) rebels said they would hold onto the four Israelis and a Briton because the number of troops in the area precluded a release. “The government has sabotaged security that would allow the liberation of the hostages before Christmas as was our wish,” the ELN said in a statement handed to the clergy.
