Rear Adm. David M. Stone, Acting Administrator for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), today announced TSA is negotiating an agreement with the City of Chicago for $37.5 million to help offset the costs of moving the checked baggage explosives detection systems (EDS) from airport lobbies to more efficient behind-the-scenes locations for various terminals at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. “TSA continues its commitment to the City of Chicago by assisting with these essential measures to meet growing demand and maintain the highest security standards for O’Hare Airport,” Admiral Stone said. “These funds will help defray costs of installing in-line baggage screening systems at this critical airport in our Nation’s transportation system.” Full Story
