A Rotterdam man was jailed Friday for threatening to carry out terrorist attacks in the Netherlands. The man, identified as A. El Y., aged 31, was sentenced to two years in jail, of which the last eight months was suspended. The Public Prosecutor’s Office (OM) had called for a 30-month sentence, with the last 10 suspended. The court heard the man sent four emails to national news organisation NOS in April. In the emails he said the government in The Hague had five days to withdraw its troops from Iraq to avoid a series of terror attacks in the Netherlands, news agency ANP said. Full Story
