Hong Kong’s highest court has ruled in favor of same-sex couples receiving equal benefits.
The Hong Kong Court of Final Appeals has ruled that deny housing benefits to same-sex couples is unconstitutional. This is the latest in a series of cases that has ruled the government must provide equal treatment to same-sex couples. Hong Kong does not currently recognize same-sex marriage, but the high court has previously ruled that the city must provide a framework for doing so.
