The US State Department is offering a $1 million reward for information that may enable it to track down Hamza bin Laden, the son of Osama bin Laden, the notorious al Qaeda leader who was assassinated in his hiding place in Pakistan as part of a top secret 2011 US Navy SEAL operation.
The State Department stated on Thursday that the 30-year-old is “emerging as a leader” of al Qaeda and that “[h]e has released audio and video messages on the Internet, calling on his followers to launch attacks against the United States and its Western allies, and he has threatened attacks against the United States in revenge for the May 2011 killing of his father by US military forces.”
