According to anonymous sources, Huawei is planning to file a lawsuit against the US government over its ban on the use of Huawei telecommunications products in government agencies. The ban is a result of US fears that Huawei might provide the Chinese government with access to its data and systems, which would enable Beijing to spy on US federal agencies and manipulate their networks. Huawei has denied these allegations.
In response to the ban, and to a global US campaign aiming to get US allies to join the boycott, Huawei recently launched a PR campaign in which it claims the US is boycotting the Chinese tech giant because Huawei products undermine the NSA’s global surveillance capabilities.
