A new study commissioned by Key Resources and carried out by Forrester Consulting shows that even though the vast majority of companies say they understand the immense importance of mainframe security, organizations are not sufficiently acting on this knowledge. According to the survey, 85% of companies consider mainframe security a top priority and 95% of them worry about potential data breaches on the mainframe, yet only one-third (33%) of firms always or often base their mainframe decisions on security considerations.
The biggest mainframe security challenges for companies are securing against zero-days (86%), quickly identifying vulnerabilities (66%) and verifying the integrity of third-party software (63%).
