A cybercrime group calling itself “Fxmsp” is selling highly sensitive information that has been stolen from three US-based antivirus software firms, security researchers at AdvIntel have discovered. The researchers write that in March of this year, Fxmsp “offered privately to sell the source code and network access” to the three breached companies. The asking price was over $300,000 and the crooks provided samples that seem legitimate.
AdvIntel took this information to US law enforcement and also reached out to companies that match the victim description. Fxmsp is a collective of Russian and English speaking hackers that has made quite a reputation for itself as a seller of access to major company networks around the globe.
