A recent survey by Gurucul reveals that nearly one in four (24%) security experts would use information of their current company to help their chances of getting a better job at another firm. Some respondents admitted to stealing company data for this purpose by transferring it to a flash drive or emailing it to a personal account.
In addition, 28% of respondents admitted they spend over two hours of every workday browsing the Web instead of doing actual work, while 16% spend 1-2 hours, 24% spend between 30 and 60 minutes, and only 32% spend less than 30 minutes. Personal browsing was more common among employees of larger firms. 12% of respondents said their non-work related Internet activities include looking for a new job.
