Wanted tribal militant Abdullah Mahsud on Sunday claimed responsibility for the recent bomb blast at the Civil Secretariat in Quetta. Muhammad Yousaf, claiming to be spokesman for Abdullah Mahsud, made the claim in a phone call from an unknown location. Speaking in fluent Urdu, he said more attacks would follow in different parts of Pakistan. “The battle is no longer confined to South Waziristan. The Quetta blast was carried out by our men in reaction to the announcement by the corps commander Peshawar offering a Rs 5 million reward for our commander Abdullah Mahsud’s capture,” the caller said. The man also claimed an attack on Saturday on a Rangers’ check-post in Jacobabad. “The government is hiding this piece of information. Our men attacked the Rangers’ checkpost on the boundary between Sindh and Balochistan with RPG-7 rockets and injured six Rangers. When the Rangers retaliated, a passer-by was killed,” spokesman Yousaf explained. Full Story
