Three Romanian journalists kidnapped in Iraq in March have been freed, the Romanian government has announced.
“The three journalists and their [Iraqi] guide are safe and well,” said Adriana Saftoiu, a spokeswoman for President Traian Basescu.
The four were abducted in a Baghdad suburb after interviewing the then prime minister. Their kidnappers had threatened to execute them if Romania did not withdraw its 800 troops from Iraq. Full Story
