Israeli police were called inside the British embassy in Tel Aviv after an armed man entered the compound seeking asylum, Israeli police and British officials have told AFP. According to Tel Aviv police district spokeswoman Liat Pearl, the armed man hauled himself over the compound fence into the parking lot and “is requesting asylum in the United Kingdom and claims to want to commit suicide”.
