“The Royal Navy’s website was suspended today after being hacked into over the weekend.
A Romanian hacker operating under the name TinKode claimed to have breached security on the site on Friday night. In a blogpost on Saturday he provided details of the hack, together with names and passwords of users. The hack text concluded with TinKode’s sign-off underneath the picture of a naked woman.
The MoD confirmed security on its public relations website was compromised over the weekend. ‘There has been no malicious damage, but as a precaution the website has been temporarily suspended. Security teams are investigating,’ it said. It insisted that no classified information had been accessed in the breach. ‘Access to this website did not give the hacker access to any classified information,’ it said.”
