SRINAGAR, India (AFP) – Indian police Friday used teargas and batons to disperse hundreds of rock-throwing Kashmiris protesting against the holding of national elections in the revolt-hit region. The clashes left over a dozen people injured, police said, and came a day after Indian Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar went to polls in the penultimate stage of India’s month-long elections, which end on May 13.
