Webroot released a new study on US business attitudes toward artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in the context of cybersecurity. While 71% of organizations want to use more AI/ML solutions as part of their cybersecurity strategy, 76% indicated that they do not actually care about AI/ML itself and would happily sign up for AI/ML-less cyber defenses as long as they keep the bad guys out.
86% of organizations are sure that threat actors are relying on AI/ML in their attack campaigns against businesses, and 83% of firms are confident that they have implemented solutions that can stop these types of attacks. This high level of confidence is rather odd given the fact that 36% of businesses in the survey have been at the receiving end of a damaging cyberattack in the past year.
