A new OpenVPN survey provides insights into the risks and benefits of remote working. According to the study, 90% of IT leaders acknowledge that remote workers put the organization at risk and a majority (54%) thinks that the risks posed by remote workers are higher than for onsite staff. However, security concerns hardly seem to undermine the rise of remote working, since the vast majority of respondents (92%) believes that the risks are outweighed by the benefits of remote work.
The report also shows that the risks of remote working aren’t merely hypothetical, with 36% of organizations having suffered one or more security incidents caused by a remote worker.
