Anyone looking for proof that ransomware is a threat to any and every organization needs to look no further than the latest news regarding US cybersecurity firm Verint, because the company’s Israeli offices where the target of a ransomware attack earlier this week. That’s right, threat actors actually went after a cybersecurity firm.
Verint has acknowledged the incident, claiming that it’s defenses “identified the attack immediately after it began and carried out the activity required to thwart it.” However, various sources told ZDNet that Verint has hired the incident response services of FireEye company Mandiant to help it recover from the attack.
