In line with previous research, a new CyberArk study found that many organizations overstate the security benefits of moving assets to the cloud. The survey found that 36% of firms believe the top benefit of cloud adoption is offloading security risk. The main security concerns companies have when it comes to public cloud usage are insiders, partners and contractors with privileged access (46 percent); unauthorized access to cloud management consoles (46 percent); and shared credentials across various instances (44 percent)
However, less than half (49%) of firms have implemented a privileged access security strategy for their cloud solutions, while most organizations (62%) aren’t aware of the existence of login credentials, secret questions and privileged accounts for Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-service (PaaS) environments.
