After January 14, Windows 7 users will get no more security updates to the operating system for free, warns Microsoft. Even though users will be able to continue to run Windows 7 after January, they could potentially face more security problems. Microsoft plans to deliver a new pop up notification to Windows 7 users on January 15, alerting them once more that the current model they use is out of support. The notification will be a part of a patch rollup, embedded in the monthly rollup KB4530734, which will be available to Windows 7 SP1 users on December 10th as a part of its scheduled Patch Tuesday updates.
The warning will inform users that their PCs are more vulnerable to viruses and malware due to the lack of security updates. Microsoft recommends using Windows 10 on a new PC for the latest security features and the best protection against malware and attacks. Since October, Microsoft has been issuing pop up notifications to the effected Windows users about the approaching end of support deadline.
