According to a Neustar International Security Council (NISC) survey among security professionals from the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks currently represent the biggest threat to organizations. Last year, about half of all organizations in these regions experienced a DDoS attack. Other major concerns mentioned by respondents were system compromise, ransomware and financial theft.
NISC introduced the Cyber Benchmark Index in May 2017 with the aim of documenting threat perceptions as “a reflection of the current international cybersecurity landscape.” The Cyber Benchmark Index has been steadily rising since the beginning and is currently at it’s highest point ever.
