Threat actors have stolen around $9.5 million in cryptocurrency from GateHub users. GateHub is a cryptocurrency wallet service for the Ripple cryptocurrency (XRP). A total of 23.2 million XRP coins were stolen from the crypto wallets of 80-90 GateHub users.

GateHub believes the attackers somehow gained access to its API and used this to carry out the attacks. It has shut down the attack and is investigating the matter. A Ripple community organization called XRP Forensics believes that over 13 million of the stolen XRP coins “have already been laundered through exchanges and mixer services.”
