On Tuesday, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctioned Zservers, a Russian cybercrime network. The Treasury’s U.S. and Australian counterparts sanctioned the hosting services provider as well. Zservers is a web-hosting service that ignores or evades law enforcement requests. Two Russian nationals who operate the site were sanctioned as well. The Treasury alleges that the site also provided LockBit, the most deployed ransomware variant around the world, with access to special servers designed to resist law enforcement.
