On Tuesday, Russia said that Ukraine struck its territory again with U.S. missiles. Ukraine also reported enduring a massive Russian air strike on the same day with over 200 drones. These attacks are just the latest in recently intensifying air assaults between the two countries. The recent assaults are part of a sudden escalation in the conflict, turning the war’s focus onto a “Cold War-style mission brinkmanship.” The Russian defense ministry is claiming that Ukraine has used over a dozen U.S.-supplied missiles on its territory thus far. Russia says that it is preparing retaliatory actions in response, raising fears of nuclear strikes.
