Australia is set to implement a social media ban for children under 16.

Australia’s government is set to enact a a ban on social media access for children under 16. The opposition party has given its support in principle to the proposal. The ban would enter into effect in 12 months after it is passed. Penalties would be applied to companies which do not reasonably enforce the law. Parents and children would face no penalty for noncompliance.
