On Monday, President Trump signed an executive order to remove the U.S. from the Paris Agreement, a pact fighting against climate change which includes all but four countries. Withdrawing from the agreement, the U.S. joins Iran, Libya, and Yemen as the only four countries not part of the pact. This is part of the new administration’s move to double down on fossil-fuel extraction and production, moving away from clean-energy technologies. Trump signed a letter of U.S. withdrawal to the United Nations on Monday, and the exit will become official one year after the letter’s submission.
