A new survey by Zebra Technologies Corporation shows that 61% of companies across the globe are on track to become “intelligent enterprises” based on an index that takes into account their use of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, data management, intelligent analysis and various other factors. Last year, just under half (49%) of companies were deemed to be approaching this kind of “intelligence.”
The study shows that 46% of companies are adopting IoT solutions across their entire firm, while 32% are planning to start with regional IoT implementations soon. 62% of organizations are monitoring their IoT security on an ongoing basis and an additional 35% do this routinely. This represents a slight uptick from last years when the numbers were 58% and 37%, respectively. However, it does mean that 3% of companies are still not keeping track of IoT security at all, which puts system integrity and data privacy at risk.
