Iran must pay more than $600 million in damages to a former hostage in Lebanon and to the family of an American woman killed in a suicide bombing in Jerusalem, federal judges ruled Thursday in separate cases. The judgments are the latest in a string of lawsuits filed by American victims of terrorism since passage of a 1996 law permitting legal action against countries identified by the State Department as sponsors of international terrorism. Dozens of Americans have won court cases against Iran, Iraq and other U.S.-designated sponsors of terrorism, but they have struggled to collect money from the nations they sued. Full Story
