The Home Affairs Ministry has given an update on Singaporeans involved with the terrorist group Jemaah Islamiyah and the Philippine separatist group Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Two men – Mohd Agus Ahmad Selani and Anis Mohamed Mansor – have been detained under the Internal Security Act, bringing the total number of JI members detained to 36. Mohd Agus, who had been released under a Retriction Order, was re-arrested last week, after having violated the conditions of his order by continuing his support for the MILF. Anis had associated with JI members over the past decade, travelling to Thailand and Yemen to source for weapons and suggested potential Singapore attack targets to the JI. Another JI member Mohd Aslam Yar Ali Khan had his detention extended for 2 years – as he continues to pose a security threat. Full Story
