An obscure Islamic group has claimed responsibility for a bombing in the heart of old Cairo Thursday that killed three people, including one American. On a Web site, a group calling itself the Islamic Brigades of Pride in Egypt said Friday it carried out the bombing in retaliation against the United States and other “colonial powers” oppressing its Islamic brothers in Iraq and the Palestinian territories.
