Envoy: No progress in N. Korea nuke talks

The top U.S. negotiator in six-nation talks on North Korea’s nuclear program said Wednesday no progress was made toward resolving a standoff after his first meeting with Pyongyang’s delegation. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill said North Korea insisted it be provided with a light-water nuclear reactor for generating power, an item not included in a draft agreement. “I must say it was a meeting in which we did not make a lot of progress,” Hill said Wednesday evening. “Neither the United States or any other participant is prepared to fund a light-water reactor.”Full Story
