Two Ulfa cadres were killed and arms seized during an encounter with the army at Namchai in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh, official sources said on Monday. One of the deceased killed in Sunday night’s encounter was identified as Vinod Dahotia. Four persons who sheltered them were also arrested. Anti-insurgency operations have been intensified in Lohit, Tirap and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh following reports that Ulfa cadres are using these places as escape route to Myanmar.
