An ULFA militant was on Tuesday killed in an encounter with a joint police and CRPF team in Assam’s Sibsagar district and arms recovered from him, a senior police official said. Security forces, acting on a tip-off, raided an ULFA transit camp, providing access to neighbouring Nagaland, inside a remote area of Abhayapur Reserve Forest under Sonari police station, district Superintendent of Police Shyamal Prasad Saikia said from the camp over telephone.
