A fragile ceasefire between the Lebanese army and Al Qaeda-linked Muslim militants was broken late Saturday as machinegun fire and rocket exchanges could be heard across the Palestinian refugee camp at the centre of the struggle. The exchanges began shortly before midnight at the Nahr al-Bared camp in northern Lebanon, where militants from the Fatah al-Islam group have been holed up for nearly a week. The firefight lasted about twenty minutes and then eased off. Sources at Lebanese army said the exchange started when the army spotted some movements at the outskirts of the camp. Full Story
