A quarter already use biometrics to identify employees. Global fears over security is one of the main issues driving the IT agenda at airports around the world, according to research. The Airport IT Trends Survey, from Airports Council International (ACI), travel technology specialist Sita and Airline Business magazine, says IT infrastructure projects are the highest investment priority for chief information officers, but security-related issues have grown to become the next biggest concern. Some 25 per cent of airports are already using biometrics to identify employees, with another quarter expected to start doing so by the end of 2006. Full Story
