Truck drivers looking for trouble, reporting it

Michael Dykes of Magnolia Springs drives a semi for AAA Cooper Transportation. He is also a spy for the federal Transportation Security Administration. Dykes is among 200 drivers and members of the Alabama Trucking Association trained by state troopers to spot terrorist activity. Dykes’ training, funded by Homeland Security, has already paid off. Last November, while driving on Interstate 10 in South Alabama, he noticed a man’s head bobbing up and down in the back seat of a car. “The car was in the fast lane and I was watching this guy in my mirror,” Dykes said. “There was a guy driving, but he had kind of a dazed look on his face.” Full Story
