A federal judge in Monterrey on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant for the former head of the Nuevo Leon judicial police in connection to the 1975 disappearance of a leftist activist. Carlos G. Solana Macías is the fourth person to be charged with the disappearance of Jesús Piedra Ibarra, a former member of the Communist League of September 23 guerrilla group. Former domestic spy chief Miguel Nazar Haro was arrested in February for ordering the disappearance, while two other ex- police agents remain fugitives after a judge issued arrest warrants for them last year.
