The White House once again included Mexico in the U.S. government list of countries where significant illicit drug trafficking takes place. Each year the White House issues the list by executive order, though it is largely symbolic with little practical effect. The document emphasized that inclusion in the list has no effect on the U.S. government’s evaluation of a country’s drug combating efforts. Officials on both sides of the border say that the U.S. and Mexican security forces are currently in a golden age of cooperation in fighting drug trafficking. Full Story
