Colombia’s defense minister, Juan Manuel Santos, has quit, Caracol radio said Monday. Marta Munoz, a spokeswoman at the Defense Ministry, said Santos will host a press conference to confirm his decision later Monday. Santos is a strong candidate to replace Colombian President Alvaro Uribe in the 2010 election only if Uribe doesn’t run for re-election.Full Story
