Inaugural U.S. Cyber Team Takes Bronze Medal at the 2022 International Cybersecurity Challenge (ICC)

The first-ever U.S. Cyber Team announced to compete in the inaugural International Cybersecurity Challenge (ICC) was in Athens, Greece earlier this month – and took the bronze medal in the competition.  OODA is proud to the sponsor of the U.S. Cyber Games and the U.S. Cyber Team.  Congratulations to the team from OODA!

About the ICC

In May, OODA announced our ongoing sponsorship of the US Cyber Games and the start of Season II (with the US Cyber Open Kick-Off Event on June 30, 2022).

In the meantime,  the first-ever U.S. Cyber Team announced to compete in the inaugural International Cybersecurity Challenge (ICC) was in Athens, Greece.

The ICC ran from June 14th -17th.   A final ICC 2022 Leaderboard can be found at:  https://ecsc.eu/icc/liveboard.

The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) is the Union’s agency dedicated to achieving a high common level of cybersecurity across Europe.   ENISA contributes to EU cyber policy, enhances the trustworthiness of ICT products, services, and processes with cybersecurity certification schemes, cooperates with Member States and EU bodies, and helps Europe prepare for the cyber challenges of tomorrow.

ENISA, together with other regional and international organisations, decided to design and host for the first time the International Cybersecurity Challenge (ICC).    The aim of the challenge is to attract young talent and raise awareness in the community, globally, on the education and skills needed in the area of cybersecurity. Teams will compete in a series of challenges, such as web application and system exploitation, cryptography, reverse engineering, hardware, and attack/defence challenges.

The first ICC event is expected to give a further boost to similar efforts that take place both at the national and regional levels around the world.  ICC will be held in Athens between 14th-17th June 2022 and ENISA looks forward to welcoming all seven teams to one of the best CTF competitions.
