For 5 years, seven stock traders and three hackers gamed the financial system by hacking press releases prior to their publication and using the information to generate over $100 million in trading profit. In the hack that authorities have referred to as the largest financial hacking scheme of its kind, over 150,000 press releases were stolen from Business Wire, Marketwired, and PR Newswire from 2010 to 2015.
