Home > Analysis > Agenda For Monthly OODA Member Meeting Friday 15 April 2022

OODA Network members are invited to participate in a monthly video call to discuss items of common interest to our membership. These highly collaborative sessions are always a great way for our members to meet and interact with each other while talking about topics like global risks, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, and current or future events impacting their organizations. We also use these sessions to help better focus our research and reporting on member needs.

There are many global risks and opportunities to discuss this month, as well as tech developments and shifts in the cybersecurity net assessment.

Here are a few topics we will discuss:

Ukraine: Some members of the OODA network have been providing pro bono consulting to senior members of the Government of Ukraine to help their war efforts. Our discussions with Ukraine are not for public release, but we were given permission to discuss some of the topics with the network. We will review some issues we have been working with them on and solicit any ideas you have for additional topics to raise with these leaders in the Ukraine Ministry of Digital Transformation.

China: China watchers are not surprised by a weakening PRC economy. And for two years we have all seen harsh lockdowns over COVID. But something seems different now. Entire cities are being shut down for weeks, videos are being seen of people protesting over lack of food, and manufacturing plants are being shuttered (hopefully temporarily). The CCP has now announced an intention to delay their big “common prosperity” campaign.  We should all make sure our strategies are informed by these changes.

Cybersecurity: One of our network will discuss a new concept for extending the zero trust architecture to a  zero trust application architecture. He has been a pioneer of modern zero trust approaches so this could be very interesting.

Tech: ARK research published information on a rapid decline in the cost of training for AI/ML, cost of training algorithms with data is dropping like a rock. Seems like will be good for accelerating AI into enterprises. Another tech topic: Bitcoin2022 is a big yearly event focused exclusively on Bitcoin.  Can discuss some of the highlights we have noticed from watching videos of the event
