On 18 November 2020 members of the OODA loop community gathered in a virtual event to discuss strategic factors critical to informed decision-making in the current era. Our goal: generate insights that can help leaders better understand markets, tech trends and geopolitical dynamics in a way that enables appropriate action.

The event aligned well with the overall goal of our site, enabling another venue to gather the hackers, thinkers, strategists, disruptors, leaders, technologists, and creators from our network. The result was a good exchange of ideas based around the multidisciplinary approach we have become known for.

OODAcon was made possible by our community of subscribers (you!) and the event’s sponsors. Sponsorship was provided by Centripetal Networks, Percipient, QuintessenceLabsData Defense Solutions and Garrison.

The event opening included a review of topics getting high traffic on the OODAloop.com site and trends we see causing that demand. We also reviewed insights from our OODAcast series and factors we believe will be key. This scene setting opening was followed by two panels, one on cybersecurity and one focused on the new strategies coming out of the government to protect critical technologies. This was followed by deep dives into topics of quantum effects, board leadership, AI and 5G.

We will be providing more on each of these topics in coming posts.

The video below provides the opening context for the event:
