About the OODA Network Monthly Meeting

OODA hosts a monthly video call to help members optimize opportunities and reduce risk, discussing items of common interest to our membership. The March 2026 OODA Network Monthly Meeting took on a consistent and urgent theme: we are entering a phase of accelerated AI adoption where capability is compounding faster than market discipline can keep up. Across multiple discussions (from AI compliance fraud to agentic system vulnerabilities and token economics), while the architecture of acceleration is real, the systems surrounding it are uneven.

A consistent pattern emerged over the course of the March 2026 meeting discussion: organizations are deploying AI faster than they can secure, validate, or economically rationalize it.

The conversation highlighted:

  • Erosion of trust in AI systems (fraudulent AI compliance platforms, model substitution, weak governance)

The market for AI-native compliance solutions has expanded rapidly, driven by enterprise demand for faster certification cycles, automated documentation, and continuous audit readiness. Legitimate providers in this category are building real capabilities—leveraging large language models to streamline evidence collection, map controls to frameworks, and reduce the cost and time associated with traditional compliance processes.

This reflects a broader shift: compliance is becoming a data and automation problem, not just a governance exercise. However, this same shift has introduced a new risk: the ability to simulate compliance outputs faster than organizations can validate them.

Case Study: Fraud in the AI Compliance Market (Category-Level Risk)

A recently exposed AI-native compliance platform demonstrated how easily trust can be exploited in this emerging category. The company claimed to automate SOC 2 readiness and certification, but in practice:

The Classic Tensions: The McKinsey AI system breach illustrates a familiar dynamic in enterprise technology adoption -the tension between rapid capability deployment, secure system design, and the appropriate level of due diligence (i.e., validating the integrity of a startup operation or communicating the business case and risk variables of FOMO-based speed of cyberscurity system integrations).

In the case of the recent Agentic AI hack at McKinsey:

  • AI agents were deployed to enhance internal knowledge access and workflows.
  • Security controls (particularly around authentication, access boundaries, and prompt handling) were insufficient, and
  • An adversarial AI-driven approach exploited these weaknesses to access sensitive data

The failure was not rooted in novel technology; it reflected known implementation risks applied to a new paradigm.
