Iran launched missiles and drones at U.S. allies and military bases across the Middle East early Wednesday, in retaliation for the renewed wave of U.S. strikes targeting Iran late Tuesday as the war stretches into its seventh month. Tehran said it targeted U.S. assets in Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq, just hours after the U.S. military struck Iranian Revolutionary Guard sites along Iran’s southern coast, including hitting a wedding that left several dead. The Guard noted in a statement reported by Iranian state media that the U.S. airstrike hit a residential home in Sirik, leaving at least four civilians dead and injuring dozens more. The fresh U.S. attacks on Tuesday were themselves in retaliation for the Islamic Republic’s strikes U.S. military bases in Jordan earlier this week and military action in the Strait of Hormuz, according to U.S. Central Command (Centcom).
