North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the launch of long-range strategic cruise missiles on Sunday, which confirmed the integrity of its nuclear power and counter-attack readiness in the face of security threats, state media KCNA said on Monday. The missiles flew along predetermined trajectories over waters in the western sea area for about 2 hours and 46 minutes before striking their targets. KCNA quoted Kim Jong Un as saying that the results of the launch of long-range strategic cruise missiles demonstrated the reliability and combat readiness of the strategic counterattack capability. The leader affirmed that the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government would continue to push forward the development of nuclear combat forces in the coming period.
