President Donald Trump stated that the United States may need to target Pickaxe Mountain, a heavily fortified facility buried deep underground near one of Iran’s main nuclear sites. Emphasizing that Washington wants to ensure Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon, Trump noted in a media interview that the facility is buried beneath millions of tons of mountain rock, but asserted that the U.S. could strike and neutralize it quickly if necessary. While recent military reports have pointed to potential new conventional strike options such as the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb called mother of all bombs. Trump explicitly ruled out the use of nuclear weapons or the deployment of U.S. ground troops in the ongoing conflict.
