Chord Specialty Dental Partners has suffered a massive data breach, impacting over 170,000 people in the incident. The breach began with suspicious activity on an employee’s email account, which in turn revealed unauthorized access to several email accounts in 2024. Compromised email accounts contained sensitive personal information including Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, bank account information, and payment card information. This is the second significant email-based data breach to a healthcare provider in recent days, following a similar attack on wheelchair provider Numotion which affected around 500,000 individuals.
