The breach occurred in May 2024 and involved data from American First Finance, a payment solutions provider that partners with FinWise to offer installment loans to consumers. The bank has not disclosed whether the former employee acted maliciously or through negligence, nor specified the types of personal information that were compromised. Affected individuals are receiving 12 months of free credit monitoring services, suggesting that sensitive data, such as Social Security numbers, may have been exposed.
