Australia has now banned Russia’s Kaspersky software, citing national security concerns. Australia’s Secretary of the Department of Home Affairs, Stephanie Foster, said that she had determined the government’s use of Kaspersky products to pose “an unacceptable security risk to Australian government, networks, and data.” The government’s new directive prohibits entities from installing the company’s products and services on all government-related devices. The move follows the U.S. ban of the software in mid-2024.
